New actresses in glimpse

Nepali Film Industry has undergone significant changes over time. The industry that once faced sharp dearth of female artists, now has seen mushrooming new beauties. The following are the excerpts about emerging actresses:

Keki Adhikari

She got her first introduction to the industry in 'Swar' made at Prasanna Poudel's direction. Keki, daughter of director Badri Adhikari, has professional calibre and ability at par with other established names, said Poudel. She has got many films to her credit due to her excellent performance.

Hricha Thakuri

Having acted in many music videos as a model, she made her entry into the big screen from 'Nai Nabhannu La'. She has proved herself to be a successful actress through her performance and self-confidence. Director Bikas Aacharya predicted that she will now get good offers ahead. The film featuring Hricha in leading female role based on the sentiments of the young generation is soon to be released.

Babita Limbu

She started her early career as a model participating in half a dozen feshion shows, and mesmerized audience in cat-walks. She did her first modelling in a song 'Mero Jivan Bat Jane Bhaye Jau' by singer Dambar Nepali. A host of viewers will find her among the tallest actresses in a soon-to-be released film 'Chhoto Chhu'. She is 5" 8' tall and is sure to charm the viewers by her brilliant performance.

Sushma Karki

She took a big leap from her modelling career in music videos to the big screen in 'Mero Euta Sathi Chha'. The name and fame she collected from a popular teleserial 'Tito Satya' opened up avenues for her film career. After playing a heroine in 'Timi Mero Ma Timro', she signed in further two projects 'Guru Dakshina' and Batomuniko Phul'. Film pandits argue that she has a potentiality to make herself established in the industry.

Sajana Chaulagain

She has emerged as an action heroine in her first film 'Yesto Po Maya' under Raju Dhwoj Rana's direction. She has also acted in 'Thegana' produced by Ramsharan Pathak. 'The viewers will know me as an action icon after they watch my films," said Sajana. She is now in the search for new films.

Shanti Giri

Upon completion of her studies from India, she cherishes her dreams of being a renowned name in modelling and glamour sectors. To do modelling in music videos and play in films are among her long-cherished wishes. She has displayed a good deal of her performance talent in a song 'Danda, Pakha, Chhahara' sung by Indian singer Sanjibi. In pursuiance of her goals, she has been taking dance and acting classes these days. At present, she, who hails from Dhapakhel of Lalitpur, is busy in a new film 'Ujyalo' directed by Bijaya Kerung.

Sanju Pariyar

She grabbed the first opportunity to introduce herself into the industry in 'Bhul Bhaye Maph Gara'. An inhabitant of Kshetrapati, Sanju is an expert dancer and has modelled in over half a dozen music videos. She is currently busy in some films, it is learned.
