Nepali filmy team beat journalists' 3-1

A Nepali filmy team emerged victorious against that of journalists by 3-1 in a friendly football match held at Dhashrath Stadium yesterday. Filmy artists Badri Panggeni, Shankar B.C., and Subash Meche scored a goal each to the victory of their team while Deependra Lama returned a consolation goal on behalf of the journalists' team. Nearly 10,000 spectators thronged the stadium to watch the game and cheered their favourite team till the match drew to a close. Actor Dhiren Shakya and journalist Nirjal Shrestha led their respective teams to field the game.

Among those playing on behalf of the filmy team were Shiv Shrestha, Shree Krishna Shrestha, Arjun Karki, and Nikhil Upreti in the first half backed by Rajesh Hamal and others in the second half. Actresses Rekha Thapa and Arunima Lamsal showed up in the field to boost up their team though they stayed off the ground.

The friendly football match was organized by Cinestar Monthly and Box Office Weekly in a bid to further tie up relationships between filmy artists and journalists.
