'Kathmandu's premier show in US

Kathmandu -A Kollywood movie "Kathmandu" produced by Nabin Ben Adhikari under Aakash Adhikari's direction was launched in the US for its premier show on October 3 on Saturday evening.

Present in the premier show were film producer, director-cum-actor in male lead Aakash Adhikari, Resh Maraththa (another leading male actor), actresses in the female lead Sanyukta Rana and Prapti Ghimire, and other cast. The film was released amidst a large number of Nepali spectators with some foreign viewers in a houseful cinema hall in the capacity of 1500 seats at Scottish Rite Centre, U.S.

Speaking at the program, Director Aakash Adhikari expressed his immense pleasure to launch the first show of his very ambitious film in the US. The movie "Kathmandu" is all about a story of street children (urchins) and also shows Kathmanduties' burning problems: scarcity of drinking water, load-shedding, unemployment, murder, violence and others.

The film was successful to bring the audience under the spell of its melodious songs sung by both Nepali and Indian singers. Indian singer Sukhbindar Sing has sung the title song for the film "Yo ho Kathmandu---".
