Pakistani Documentary Bagged best Award

Kathmandu- Ki Jana Mein Kaun, a Pakistani documentary film received best award in the first SAFMA South Asian Documentary Film Festival on Tuesday. Eight member countries of SARC participated in the festival held for four days in Kathmandu.


Winner documentary, Ki Jana Mein Kaun focuses on Indo-Pak tension related to religious issues. Similarly, film based on Srilankan artistic work against conflict 'Defiant Art' bagged the second prize. Nepali Documentary 'The wait continues' won the third position. Conflict victims of Jogimara Dhadhing are captured on the film by director Mohan Mainali.


This festival was scheduled to be held in Mumbai. Due to the security reason Kathmandu was selected as venue in the last minute. According to the organizer South Asian Free Media Association next festival will be held in Mumbai in 2009.
