Competition of Investment
This kind of trend was established by actor Bhuwan K.C.-who has alredy played the leading role in more than a dozen films- a decade ago investing in the films like Karorpati, Nepalibabu and Babusaheb as well. Recently Actor Nikhil Uprety and acterss Sajja Mainali have jointly invested in the film, Sabdhan. Like wise actor Akash Adhikari has made a film, Krodh in the investment of his own. Actress Rekha Thapa has already become producer investing in Ajambari Nata and Himmat. Actor Lokendra has started to make the film Shasan and actress Melina Manandhar has also invested in film making but her film is not the feature but telefilm. She has been acting in the tele serial Karuna broadcasted in the Nepal television in which she has invested herself.
This kind of trend is not beyond the controversy. Some say that the commercial experimentation of the experience achived through acting is appreciable while others protest saying that it will give more commercial touch in the industry than the creativity. Intrestengly some naive people have also invested in the film to fulfill the desire of being hero or heroin. Nawal Khadka, Simant Udas, Devendra Bajgai, Ramkrishna Bajgai, Jharana Thapa and the like are some example of this kind.Unfortunately most of their films couldn't be successful and moreover they were not offered any role by anybody.
No one has the clear answer whether it is good or bad.Even actor Bhuwan K.C has keeps mum about it.His experience is bit different Acting in others film always is too monotonous because one has to bound in the thouhgt of others while acting. He further opines that if you you want to make the film of your own thoughts and ideas , you have to invest by yourself. Now he is busy in making a new film.
