Actress Yuna Upreti's much-awaited film 'Pharkera Herda'(Flash Back) is at the stage of screening at major halls in the capital soon. The film has already captured the limelight of the audience due to Yuna's most amorous 'kiss scene'. Yuna, who has acted in as many as seven films during the last three years, is known more for her proximity with director Deepak Shrestha than for her acting. Having started her film career from 'Parkhi Base' produced under the banner of Gopikrishna Movies, Yuna is still in her struggling phase, aiming to be among those of her established counterparts in Nepali Film Industry. Her latest reappearance in 'Pahilo Pahilo Maya' under Deepak's direction has been seen with much interest. The following is part of talks that filmnepal.com caught with the emerging hot icon: 'Flash Back' is anticipated to be among the hot films. What's your say? On what basis do you say so? What scene did you see in the film to this effect? Don't you think you're shown in a kiss scene in the film's poster? Yea, but it alone doesn't make a film very hot as you said. Kiss scenes are frequent occurrences in films these days. Many of my counterparts have done so with no hesitation. Is it that strange? Is there any special reason behind your frequent appearances in director Deepak Shrestha's films? It is not that I play a heroine only in his films. Lately, I have acted in 'Pharj' at Madan Ghimire's direction and 'Flash Back' under Daya Ram Dahal's direction. It's a big testimony against the rumor. But rest of the films you acted in are directed by Deepak Shrestha. Why so? Om, its true- my first film that introduced me to Nepali Film Industry was directed by him. I've acted in many other films under his direction. Perhaps, my acting charmed him and propelled him to choose me in his films. And, nothing else as such. I'm ready to accept offers from other directors and keeping my word as well. Do you think other directors will approach you until you are in Deepak Shrestha's camp? I've made it clear time and again that I'm not an actress of this type. Acting is my profession and I'm an actress for and of the audience. I'm ready to undertake a role in a film if someone finds me deserving for the same. Have you approached other directors for an offer? I haven't knocked anyone's door for that purpose. And, I can't plead someone on such matters. I had talks with some but later knew that they switched to others. Did you try to unearth the causes? Well, one reason can be-I'm still not a glamorous icon, and the other is perhaps because of the rumor that I'm a heroine of someone's 'camp'. Through the filmnepal.com, I want to urge all not to run after such baseless rumor. But, you have recently signed in the next film being directed by Deepak again? It's a mere coincidence! To tell you the truth, I was offered the project by Gopikrishna Movies, not by Deepak.
