Sometimes barking like a dog or howling like a fox, Manoj Gajurel used to make people laugh in the village. A popular comedian, Gajurel has achieved the headay of popularity here in Nepal and abroad. The caricature of Maoist supremo Prachada and king Ganendra demonstrated recently in Gaijatra has placed him in the different height of fame. Gratuated in journalism, he is an editor of the internet magazine damadol.com. Filmnepal.com has chosen him for guff-suff. Some excerpts:

Could you please make a count of the number of the films you have acted in?
Who would come to take my interview, if I were in the film sector? Furthermore, I don't have such favorable facial attribute to play as a joker in the film.

May be producers and directors have not made a note of yours so that you have been hanging around in the T.V. and stages. What do you think ?
Oh! No, I'm not a gorgeous girl whom producers and directors would follow on.

Will you miss it even if you will be offered a very good role?
I will really think about if anyone who has understanding the real values of humor and satire offers the role. At the present situation, I have no such expectation from producers and directors.

You have become so popular nowadays mostly after Gaijatra, what magic did you do there? May be you have earned lots of money as well ?
Fame and money are not two parts of a coin. They come in isolation and not together. Regarding recent Gaijatra, if you have such reading, I don't say 'No' to this.

By the way how do you manage time for the Stage Program, Radio, TV, Newspaper, and even internet magazine? Isn't it too much?
Not only that, how do you forget my affiliation to the Human rights activist and Sisnupani Nepal? Still I do manage time.

What do you intend inserting politics in humor and satire?
No, not like that, in fact politics wishes to get into humor and satire

Is it so or wanna be political leader in future?
I'm the leader of my own field. I don't want to create a mess in the love and trust, gained hardly, of my audiences being a political leader.


By the way you are married or bachelor?
Oh! You are talking about me or my son?

People say that artists have many dealings outside. How about you?
When I go to shopping with my wife, I have to make a good dealing to reduce the large bill. But not such dealing outside as you have raised.

How long will you keep on making the audiences joker?
Until and unless political leaders will keep on making us joker............

Many humor and satire artists form a couple, why are you alone yet?
What are you talking about? I have got 14 member battalion of artist in Sisnupani Nepal. They are my more than partners.

Are you happy with the profession you have followed?
Happiness depends upon perception.
